The worship of God is central to the Christian faith. It is to our spirits what oxygen is to our lungs; without it, our faith would die.
Worship at Hayes Barton Baptist Church is in the traditional style. Congregational music includes traditional hymns accompanied by organ and piano. Additional service music is provided primarily by our Chancel Choir, and is occasionally supplemented by other church choirs—preschool, children’s, youth, handbells—soloists, instrumentalists, and ensembles.
Worship is for all of God’s children, including children! We seek to make our worship children-friendly at HBBC. On most Sundays we feature a Children’s Sermon. In addition, we regularly provide Children’s Church for children grades 1-5. Extended Session is provided for our infants-5 year olds.
We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ should be proclaimed in all of our worship services. We typically read from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.
We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide a live television broadcast of our worship each Sunday morning. Many people throughout our community, including those who are members of other churches, consider themselves as part of our television congregation. Our TV Ministry page includes additional information about our television broadcast, including cable channels on which it is featured.
