The Hayes Barton Baptist Church School of Music provides a place for the church membership and interested members of the community to learn and develop their musical talents in a safe, wholesome environment.  The program offers high quality private instruction in voice and selected musical instruments for children through adults, with Suzuki string and beginning pipe organ classes for young children.  The HBBC SOM considers that it has a Christian responsibility to welcome students of all backgrounds, ethnic groups and faiths in an effort to provide a musical education experience of excellence.

Students at the School of Music have numerous performance opportunities in exceptional, professional settings, including individual recitals, chamber music performances, ensembles of various types, master classes and participation in enhancement of services at HBBC.  There are also occasional faculty recitals. This program is based upon a foundation of excellence in teaching and encouragement of student participation in various performance venues.
