KIDZ STUFF CONSIGNMENT SALE - September 12-14, 2013

WELCOME!

Registration is now open! Get great deals on gently used, fall and winter children’s clothes, toys, maternity wear, furniture, books, baby gear and more at our Fall/Winter Kidz Stuff Children’s Consignment Sale. Clean out your closets, recycle toys and equipment and help a cause of faith.

Consignors will receive 60% of the proceeds of their total items sold. The remaining 40% will be donated to HBBC Children’s Ministry projects.

You can register to consign or volunteer, work with your inventory, make sales tags and schedule your drop-off appointment – all online.

Consignors, we have your supplies! Card stock and cable ties for sales tags are available at the Family Life Center Welcome Desk. Hours: M-Th 9-9, Fr 9-5.  First 15 sheets of card stock & first 100 cable ties - complimentary!

KIDZ STUFF CONSIGNMENT - DETAILS

Registration “Stuff” 

  • Registration is open through September 11 at noon.
  • To consign, you must register even if you have participated in past sales.
  • There will be a $5 consignor fee that will be deducted from your check. See "Post Sale Stuff" for more information (below).
  • Click on New or Returning Consignor link and follow steps.
  • Make a Drop-off Appointment

Consignor "Stuff" - IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

  • To complete sales tags, go to Consignor Homepage and click on "Work with Consigned Inventory." Note: Each item must be entered before printing tags.
  • Print your inventory report and bring it to your drop-off appointment. 
  • Gently used fall/winter clothing, furniture, baby gear, maternity clothing, toys and other children’s items will be accepted.
  • Spring/summer clothing, car seats, travel systems (stroller with car seat and base), cribs, stuffed animals and stained/unclean items will NOT be accepted.
  • A minimum of 10 individual items is required or $30 min. total sales value.
  • Fasten multiple-piece garments together and indicate number of pieces in tag description (i.e., “2-piece”).
  • Sales tags must be printed on CARD STOCK (White Card stock = Donate, Color Card stock = No Donate; see below for more information). Put cable tie through the sales tag and attach to the garment through the neck, buttonhole, side tag or belt loop.
  • Flimsy paper tags often fall off and get lost. Items without a tag cannot be sold. Using heavier paper like cardstock helps ensure your items get a chance to be sold! 
  • WHITE & COLOR CARD STOCK NOW AVAILABLE along with cable ties at the Family Life Center front desk. First 15 sheets are complimentary. Additional sheets can be purchased at 5 cents per sheet. First 100 cable ties are complimentary. Additional bundles of 100 can be purchased for $1.
  • Any shade of cardstock that could be considered WHITE such as IVORY, BEIGE, OR LIGHT GRAY will be donated. If you do not want your items donated, please print on brightly colored cardstock.
  • Clothing and other items should be CLEAN and GENTLY used without stains, from a smoke-free environment and placed on APPROPRIATE-SIZED hangers. No spring/summer items!
  • Kidz Stuff Consignment Sale RESERVES THE RIGHT TO NOT SELL ITEMS if they are not in accordance with our guidelines.
  • For non-hanging items and multiples (such as onesies, PJs, socks, undershirts), place in clear bags & securely TAPE the sales tag on the item inside the bag. Use the smallest amount of tape needed so that removal at check-out will be easy. 
  • For returning consignors who want to consign unsold items that were in previous Kidz Stuff sales, make sure you ACTIVATE them in your inventory.
  • All unsold items will be DONATED to a local children’s ministry charity after the sale unless you indicate otherwise. 
  1. For any items that you DO NOT want donated, print those tags on COLOR card stock.  
  2. All items tagged with white card stock will be 1/2- price on Saturday and donated if not sold.
  3. All items marked "DISCOUNT YES" will be sold at 1/2-price on Saturday. No exceptions.

Drop-off “Stuff”:

  • *Early Drop-Off Incentive! Drop your items off by Monday September 9, and your name will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate.
  • All items must be priced and tagged before drop-off. The only exception will be for donated items.
  • Drop-off times at the HBBC Family Life Center:
    • *Monday, September 9,  9:30 am-1:00 pm & 5:00-6:45 pm
    • Tuesday, September 10, 9:30 am-1:00 pm & 5:00-6:45 pm
    • Wednesday, September 11, 9:00 am-12:00 noon
  • Please pre-sort items by size and gender to make check-in easier.
  • CHECK-IN:  PRINT YOUR INVENTORY REPORT AND BRING IT TO DROP-OFF. This will be used to check in your items. All items will be inspected by a volunteer and then you will be asked to hang your items on appropriate gender and size racks.
  • Please allow at least 15 minutes for check-in plus additional time for you to place items in appropriate places (racks, tables, etc.). There is also an additional form to fill out at check-in.   
  • Each consignor/donor who meets requirements will receive a laminated tag for entrance into the preview sale.
  • NEW! If you plan to pick up your unsold items instead of donating, please leave a box or bin at drop-off. We will hold your unsold items in your bin. Mark your bin with your consignor number to help with re-sort after the sale.

Donation “Stuff”

  • Donated items are greatly appreciated! Registration, pricing and tagging are NOT required for donating.
  • Items need to be clean and in working order.
  • Please include children’s clothing hangers, if possible.
  • Charitable donation forms will be provided at drop-off.
  • NEW: Donations will be accepted through TBD. Due to time constraints, we are not able to accept donations during the week of the sale. We welcome your donations during any of the following times:

  • Early incentive! If you drop off your donations by TBD, your name will be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate. 
  • Donors are eligible to shop the Preview Sale when they meet the same minimums as consignors: at least 10 individual items or $30 total sales value.

Sale Days “Stuff”

  • Cash, checks and credit cards (Discover, Visa or Mastercard) will be accepted. 
  • NC sales tax will be charged on all sales.
  • A Preview Sale for consignors, donors and volunteers who meet eligibility requirements will be held from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, September 12. 
  • You must bring your laminated tag for entrance into the preview sale. Only ONE PERSON will be admitted with each tag.
  • Public sale dates and times are:
    • Thursday, September 12, 7:00 pm -8:30 pm
    • Friday, September 13, 9:00 am -5:00 pm
    • Saturday, September 14, 8:00 am-12:00 noon (Half-price Sale!) 
  • Half-price Sale: On Saturday, September 14, all items marked "DISCOUNT YES" will be sold at half-price, no exceptions. All items tagged with white card stock will be half-price on Saturday and donated if not sold.
  • Let's be "eco-friendly!" Please bring reusable shopping bags or other containers for your purchases.

Post-Sale “Stuff”

  • Consignors must pick up unsold items from the HBBC Family Life Center on Sunday, September 15 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. All items not picked up by 3:00 pm will be donated to local children’s ministries. No exceptions.
  • Be sure to check lost & found bins for any of your items that may have lost a tag or may have been removed from the sale due to stains, out of season or other reasons. These items could not be sold and will be donated if not picked up by 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 15.
  • Consignors will receive 60% of the proceeds of their total items sold. The remaining 40% will be donated to HBBC Children’s Ministry projects.
  • Checks will be mailed by September 30, 2013. A $5.00 consignor fee will be deducted from your check.  

Volunteer & Shop Early:

If you have no items to consign, you can still qualify to shop early. Volunteer three hours and you can earn a pass to shop at the Preview Sale! Follow the directions below.

  • Current consignors already registered who would like to volunteer may go directly to Worker Login page. 
  • If you are NOT registered to consign and would like to volunteer, go to the Worker Login  page and click on the link beside "Need to register as a worker?" (below the login button). This will take you to the New Worker Registration page.
  • The deadline for volunteer registration is September 9.
  • All volunteers who work a minimum of 3 hours will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate.The sale cannot operate without our small army of dedicated volunteers. We appreciate you!

TIPS

5 Key Points for Successful Consigning:

  1. Are your items clean & in working order? Buttons replaced, zippers working, no stains or tears?
     
  2. Did you use white card stock for items that are to be donated after the sale?
     
  3. Are your items on hangers or securely packaged? Are your clothes hung with the open end of hanger hook pointing to the left (like a question mark)?
     
  4. Are your items priced competitively? See our pricing guidelines under consignor links!
     
  5. Have you included toys, books, baby gear, equipment and furniture in your inventory? These items are hot sellers!
