Holiday Food Drive for Urban Ministries - November 12 – December 21
Thanksgiving and Christmas are times when some families feel their lack of resources the most – not only in what they aren’t able to provide for their families but also in the contrast they see with what many folks are able to do. Let’s help as many as we can this year! Place your non-perishable food donations in the collection bins in the main hallway. Perhaps families or SS classes would like to provide a complete bag for a family : $25 Gift Card from Food Lion for a turkey, ham or chicken, plus canned and boxed items: Stuffing, poultry stock, cream of mushroom soup, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, fruit, vegetables, biscuit mix, cake mix, icing, pie filling, crust mix, family tea bags, coffee.
No Family Night Activities - November 26
Thanksgiving Service - November 27, 10:00 AM
We will hold our annual Thanksgiving Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The service will be held in the sanctuary. Please join us for this special service and remember to invite friends, neighbors and relatives. Childcare will not be provided.
Poinsettia Orders - Through December 3
Each Christmas we beautify our sanctuary with poinsettias. You and your family may give one of these poinsettias in memory or honor of a loved one or someone who is meaningful to you (i.e. Sunday School teacher, staff member, etc.). Your gift helps defray the cost of the sanctuary poinsettias and of those taken to members served by the Home Visitation Ministry. The cost of the poinsettias is $9.00 each. A list of donors will be published. Please mail or bring your check (made payable to HBBC) along with your order form to the Church Office. The deadline for submitting orders is Wednesday, December 3.

Choir Presentation of “The Word Became Flesh”
December 14, 11:00 AM
A Worship Experience presented by the Music Ministry of Hayes Barton with full orchestra.
Invite a colleague and their family, or a family who lives on your street to Celebrate Christmas with you on December 14. The Word Became Flesh explores the Incarnation of Jesus Christ! At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus coming to earth as a baby. Through The Word Became Flesh we also see how Jesus comes alive through each of us in our daily walk with Him. How has Jesus come alive in your life this year?
The Word Became Flesh begins with creation and God's perfect plan for fellowship with mankind. This divine plan, interrupted by The Fall, continues with God promising a Savior who will save His people from their sins. The story ends with a glorious celebration of the birth of this Savior, Jesus, the Word Incarnate.
