Adventures in Faith
Summertime is vacation time. But it can also be a time for spiritual growth. That’s why we’re inviting everyone to share in our “Adventures in Faith” emphasis. Each Sunday we will focus on one of the great Old Testament stories. In addition, each month we will invite you to join us in reading a great inspirational book. The book for July is Small Things with Great Love: Adventures in Loving Your Neighbor by Margot Starbuck. She invites us to choose theadventure that fits who we are in authentically loving those around us. Let us know if you are joining us on our adventure in reading by emailing Virginia at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the church office (919-833-4617). Finally, we are publishing a monthly devotional guide for you and your family to use while on vacation. The guide for July is available here or around the church. Don’t forget to share pictures with us!
A Taste of Sunday School
YOU are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall to experience the fellowship, coffee, and study that occurs in our Sunday School classes each week. Vann Langston, a teacher in the Danielson class, will lead the lesson on the 27th. Join us starting at 9:45 for coffee and fellowship with the lesson starting promptly at 10 a.m. You don't want to miss it! Summer is a great time to give it a try!
Belize Mission Team
Please pray for the Belize Mission Team July 28– August 4. If you would like to keep up with their journey, they will be updating their blog throughout the trip. Their blog is hbbcbelize.blogspot.com.
Survey of Capital Priorities
A small task force, led by Henry Turlington, is reviewing the current capital needs of our church. They are looking at everything on our campus and they want to hear directly from YOU. What do you see that needs to be repaired? Updated? Or even, added? This is your chance to share your thoughts. A brief survey is now available at the church. Or you can download one here. Please participate – even if you think you don’t have any suggestions, you might think of something once you see the questions. The due date for submitting surveys is Sunday, August 10.
Christian Education Council Survey
As part of our 5 Points Vision, our Christian Education Council has been working to provide our congregation and community with a variety of resources to further our deeper commitment. In an effort to do this, we need to hear from you! Please take a few moments and take this Christian Education Survey to help us plan for the upcoming year! Thank you in advance for sharing your opinion!
Urban Ministries Summer Food Drive

We need healthy non-perishable items like meat products, vegetables, fruits, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, dried beans, rice, macaroni and cheese, soups, pastas and sauce, dried or canned milk, juice drinks, etc. Place items in the labeled bin in the FLC. Let’s reach the 8000 lb. mark! We have collected 450 lbs. so far.
